Sant Joan de Déu promotes the EU-PROMENS program to strengthen mental health training at the European level

Professionals from various fields gathered in Barcelona for the first edition of the EU-PROMENS program, which aims to strengthen mental health competencies across Europe.

The EU-PROMENS program, funded by the EU4Health initiative, has as its main objective the improvement of training for professionals working in the field of mental health - from healthcare staff to educators, social workers, and prison personnel.

Scheduled to run from January 2025 to December 2026, the project promotes a preventive and multidisciplinary approach, encouraging cross-sector collaboration to address mental health in a comprehensive manner.

Sant Joan de Déu Research Foundation, host of the program in Spain

The Sant Joan de Déu Research Foundation (FRSJD) is actively participating in EU-PROMENS as the coordinating entity for training exchanges in Spain. In collaboration with various centers within the Sant Joan de Déu network, it offers participants full immersion in innovative models of mental health care and research.

The participating entities include:

  • Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu: Provides a network of healthcare, teaching, and research services in mental health, promoting a proactive community-based model.
  • Hospital Sant Joan de Déu Barcelona: A leading pediatric center that develops mental health programs for children and adolescents.
  • Fundació Germà Tomàs Canet: Supports individuals in situations of vulnerability and social exclusion, implementing programs for decision-making support and social reintegration.
  • SOM Salut Mental 360: A digital platform aiming to become a reference in mental health, promoting an inclusive and integrative perspective.
  • Sant Joan de Déu Social Services: The Hort de la Vila Residential Inclusion Center provides a space where people's basic needs are met.

Thanks to this collaboration, the FRSJD facilitates the exchange of scientific knowledge and practical experiences with professionals from across Europe, contributing to the comprehensive approach promoted by the program.
